Description

Proud Recipient of the 1999 James Beard Foundation AmericaÊs Regional Classics Award. The Original Pancake House franchise came to New Jersey in 1992 with the opening of the West Caldwell location, which owner Peter Rentzis and his family have successfully owned and operated since 1968. At the time, gourmet breakfast in the area was non-existent. With an emphasis on serving great food with exceptional service, the restaurant quickly gained a loyal following. The Original Pancake House concept was founded in 1953 by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke. Drawing upon their many years of experience in the culinary field and their extensive working knowledge of authentic national and ethnic pancake recipes, they were able to offer a unique and original menu which has gained national acclaim. There are now over 90 Original Pancake House franchises from coast to coast.
