The NJ Jewish Coaliton for Refugees has organized a "Know Your Rights" training for allies, including Coalition members and local activists and community members. The training will be done by Brian Lozano at Wind of the Spirit and is being hosted at United Synagogue of Hoboken.
Wind of the Spirit's "Know Your Rights" workshops are interactive training programs to educate our communities on best practices for dealing with immigration enforcement for those impacted and allies, constitutional rights, and the history of immigration enforcement in the United States. They focus primarily on role-playing exercises, allowing impacted individuals and allies to build muscle-memory responses to the often intimidating tactics of immigration enforcement. In 2018 alone over 1,200 immigrants and allies participated in these workshops. For more information about Wind of the Spirit, visit www.wotsnj.org.
Space is limited and registration is required. Please RSVP by October 21.
