Plates 4 Parks, the Jersey City Parks Coalition’s signature fundraising event, is excited to open the 2022 Season with Mocktails under the Moonlight, Friday, May 20, 2022, 6:00 pm ET at the newly inaugurated Mary McLeod Bethune Park, located at 143 Martin Luther King Dr, Jersey City, NJ 07305, featuring Jersey City Chef Alex Sartoga, founder and owner of Garden Steaks.
This outdoor event is adult focused with signature mocktails, appetizers, and entertainment.
The menu is exclusively created by Alex Sartoga for this evening of community and features Carlos Drouet, Jersey City firefighter and mixologist, incorporating AeroFarms greens into craft mocktails. . All proceeds will support the Jersey City Parks Coalition in its mission to empower residents to develop, renovate, use, and maintain their community parks and public spaces in Jersey City; thereby revitalizing neighborhoods and lifting communal and human spirits while respecting the neighborhood's cultural diversity.
As part of Plate4Parks and Alex Sartoga’s mission to engage our youth, This dinner series also provides hospitality training to a group of youths from the Jersey City Anti-Violence Coalition.
Plates4Parks is excited to share updates about the Bethune Center farm with a focus on healthy food choices. In addition, we are pleased to announce our partnership with Division of Health and Human Services, providing greens from their Aerofarms program to highlight the social and community impact of vertical farming in line with their vision.
